Reviewing the Clippers’ Free Agency Progress: Superteam Disintegrates – Where Will They Rank in the West Next Season?

Reviewing the Clippers' Free Agency Progress: Superteam Disintegrates – Where Will They Rank in the West Next Season?

Today, the free agency period officially kicked off, with the Clippers making several notable moves.

Heading into today, the Clippers’ free agents were as follows:

George (player option, declined), Harden, Theis, Westbrook (player option, exercised), Tucker (player option), Plumlee

Harden is virtually confirmed to stay with a 2-year, $70 million contract.

George, however, has decided to leave, signing a max deal worth $212 million over four years with the 76ers.

Westbrook exercised his player option, but reports suggest the Clippers are looking to trade him.

Plumlee has committed to a one-year deal with the Suns.

The futures of Theis and Tucker remain unclear.

Nonetheless, the Clippers have added former Mavericks forward J.J. Barea, who reached the Finals last season, as a solid addition. They also signed Kevin Porter Jr., who returns to the NBA after a long absence.

Clippers’ franchise cornerstone Kawhi Leonard signed a 3-year, $153 million contract to stay with the team earlier this year, though concerns about his injury linger.

In addition, the Clippers will be moving into their luxurious new home arena for the upcoming season.

Given these developments, do you believe the Clippers can still navigate through rough waters in the new season? Or do you think there are other players the Clippers should target in free agency? Share your thoughts in the comments and voting sections.
