Bridges Joins Knicks! Full-Season Streak Perfect for Thibodeau, Nova Alumni Reunion in New York

On June 26th, according to NBA insider Woj, the Knicks acquired Bridges from the Nets. The Knicks traded away five first-round picks and Bojan Bogdanović to get Bridges and a second-round selection. This move significantly boosts their roster for next season, positioning them as strong contenders for the Eastern Conference Finals and even the NBA Finals.

Last season with the Nets, Bridges played all 82 games, averaging 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, with a 37.2% three-point shooting percentage. Despite being seen as a 3-and-D piece, he emerged as Brooklyn’s top player. However, with the Knicks, Bridges will return to his complementary role. His exceptional durability is sure to be appreciated by head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Notably, Bridges’ arrival completes a quartet of former Villanova teammates on the Knicks roster: Brunson, DiVincenzo, Hart, and now Bridges. Additionally, his signing pushes the Knicks’ payroll for next season to $189.5 million.
