As previously reported, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
A domestic sports commentator, @Basketball Journalist Jia Lei, shared his insights on the matter.
According to Shams, “James has a player option worth $51.4 million for this summer. The Lakers are willing to offer any contract that James desires. If James exercises his player option and seeks to extend his deal with the Lakers for two more years, the team would be agreeable. If James opts out and wants to sign a three-year extension with a no-trade clause, the Lakers would also be amenable.”
Actually, the Lakers’ biggest asset in retaining LeBron is drafting Bronny, as playing together with his son has always been LeBron’s utmost aspiration. In reality, the Lakers have already secured the most significant bargaining chip to keep LeBron on the team.
