On July 14th, the NBA Summer League will feature a game between the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bulls secured the 11th overall pick in the draft, Scoot Henderson, who played for the G-League Ignite last season. Henderson, a local player born in Illinois, shed tears upon being selected by the Bulls. Prior to the draft, Henderson was projected as a potential top-five pick. As a 6’10” forward, he possesses excellent ball-handling skills but has an inconsistent shooting touch and a slender build that requires strength development. He is undoubtedly the key attraction of this game.
On the Bucks’ side, they acquired the 23rd overall pick AJ Johnson and the 33rd overall pick Tyler Smith in the draft. These rookies will also join their team for the Summer League. Johnson previously played for the NBL’s Illawarra Hawks and stands at 6’5″, playing as a guard. Tyler Smith, at 6’9″, also played for the Ignite last season and has notable finishing abilities off the catch.
Additionally, MarJon Beauchamp, who established himself in the Bucks’ lineup last season, should be their top choice for the Summer League. Last season, Beauchamp averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game with a remarkable 40% three-point shooting percentage. This 23-year-old small forward could shine brightly in the Summer League.
