Today, the official Guangzhou Basketball Team announced that Coach Yang Xuezeng has been appointed as the head coach of the team.

With excitement for the upcoming season, we are delighted to share that the Dragon Tiger Basketball Club officially invites Coach Yang Xuezeng to join as the head coach of Guangzhou Leopards!

As a champion coach in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league and a stalwart in Chinese basketball, since embarking on his coaching career in 1994, Coach Yang Xuezeng has not only accumulated numerous accolades in professional clubs (including Dongguan New Century, Shanxi Fenao, Sichuan Jinqiang) and national youth teams (U20 Men’s National Team, U18 Three-on-Three Men’s National Team), but has also helped nurture and unleash the potential of countless young Chinese basketball talents to shine on the professional stage.

During the period from 2005 to 2010, under Coach Yang Xuezeng’s leadership, the young Dongguan team progressed steadily, rising from the 14th position in the CBA 2005-2006 season to become a formidable force in the league, and advancing to the top four in the 2007-2008 season.

In the most luminous season of his 30-year coaching career, the CBA 2015-2016 season, it was under his guidance that the Sichuan Jinqiang team made its playoff debut and advanced to the finals, where they secured the team’s first CBA championship with a dazzling offensive display! This summer’s spectacle in Chengdu remains a cherished chapter in Chinese basketball history!

Over the past few seasons, as the head coach of Shanxi Fenao Professional Basketball Club, Coach Yang Xuezeng has repeatedly led the team into the playoffs and achieved outstanding results. Under his command, Shanxi’s offense is potent and entertaining, showcasing distinctive playmaking skills on both ends of the court, earning the admiration of Shanxi fans!

Knowing the expectations of fans, partners, and media from the consecutive four seasons of Guangzhou Leopards in the CBA playoffs, we firmly believe that Coach Yang Xuezeng can write a more spectacular chapter of “Courage to Move Forward” with Guangzhou Leopards.
