On August 2, after two rounds of the Olympic men’s basketball group stage matches in Paris, FIBA updated its latest MVP rankings. LeBron James continues to dominate the top spot, Kevin Durant makes a debut at No. 5, Jokić and Alexander swap positions with the former moving up to No. 3, while Giannis Antetokounmpo plummets four spots to No. 10.

In the first two rounds of the group stage, James averaged 16.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, shooting an impressive 63.6% from the field.

Canada has secured qualification with two wins in their group stage matches. Alexander averaged 18.5 points, 5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Serbia has a record of one win and one loss. Jokić averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 3 steals per game.

Durant’s outstanding performance, averaging 18.5 points, sees him enter the top five of the rankings directly this period after not being included in the previous list. Over the two group stage matches, Durant had a field goal percentage of 71.4%, made all his three-point attempts (100%), and had a free-throw percentage of 91%.
