No injustice in the loss! Caboclo, Brazil's top scorer, and the starting five's combined points

On July 28th, in the Paris Olympic Games men’s basketball group stage, France staged a comeback to defeat Brazil 78-66.

In this match, Brazil led 23-15 at one point in the first quarter, but after entering the second quarter, Brazil lost their momentum, which was largely due to the underwhelming performance of the starting five.

Caboclo, who has played in the NBA for many years, is Brazil’s top scorer. In the 2014 NBA draft, he was selected 20th overall in the first round by the Toronto Raptors. In the previous Olympic qualifying tournament, Caboclo averaged 17.8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game, leading Brazil to a successful qualification and earning him the MVP title of the Latvian zone.

However, in this match, Caboclo missed all three of his shots and scored no points. The other two starters, De Paula and Dias, contributed 2 and 3 points respectively. Although Huertas and Mendel each scored 11 and 14 points, they were unable to overcome the poor performances of their teammates and had to accept the reality of being overturned by France.
