In this game, the U.S. team did not take an early lead; after the first quarter, they were trailing Puerto Rico 25-29. Fortunately, Edwards and Durant started off hot, turning the tide and capping off the first half with an 18-2 run to build a substantial lead. In the second half, the U.S. team dominated, maintaining a lead of over 20 points throughout and ultimately winning by 21 points.

This time, young Edwards was on fire, coming off the bench to change the course of the game. In the second half, he exploded, playing for 17 minutes during which he made 11 of his 15 shots (including 3 of 6 from three-point range) for a game-high 26 points, along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He also delivered a powerful windmill dunk that ignited the bench atmosphere.
