The quarterfinalists for the Olympic men’s singles have all been decided today.
American youngster Edwards talked about his Timberwolves teammate Gobert during an interview:
“I spoke to him when I first arrived in Paris, but not after that. We’re competing, so we haven’t communicated. He knows I want to meet him, and it means a lot for both of us. I know he likes playing for France and is also looking forward to this (Paris Olympics). Before the Olympics, like mid-season in the NBA, we would talk trash to each other. He said they would beat us, so I’m looking forward to playing against the French national team.”
However, it’s worth noting that France and the United States are in different halves of the draw, so they can only meet in the gold medal match.
