On August 25, the WNBA regular season continued, with the Minnesota Lynx defeating the Indiana Fever 90-80 at home, securing their sixth consecutive victory and locking in a playoff spot.
In this game, the Lynx came out strong, quickly taking control of the court and leading by 13 points in the first quarter. It seemed like they were headed for a big win, but unexpectedly, the Fever erupted in the second quarter, reducing the Lynx’s lead to just one point by halftime. In the second half, the Lynx regained their composure, took control of the game once again, and did not make any more mistakes, rebuilding a double-digit lead in the final quarter to secure the victory.
Collier continued her recent hot form, playing 35 minutes, making 12 out of 18 shots, scoring a game-high 31 points, along with 5 rebounds, successfully helping the team maintain the win. Besides Collier, the Lynx as a whole performed excellently, with five players scoring in double digits. McBride scored 19 points, Carlton had 16 points, while Williams and Sydeman both contributed 10 points.
Additionally, the Lynx used this victory to welcome the retirement ceremony of their franchise star Maya Moore. After this game, the Lynx will retire Moore’s No. 23 jersey.
