The group stage will take place from November 13 to December 4, and there are several group matchups that are particularly noteworthy.
The Knicks and the 76ers have been placed in Group A together. In the first round of last season’s playoffs, the Knicks eliminated the 76ers with a total score of 4-2. During the off-season, the 76ers underwent significant reinforcement, with All-Star player Paul George joining, Maxi further developing, and the addition of supporting players like Martin, Oubre, Gordon, and Lowry. It remains to be seen if they can exact revenge on New York in the NBA Cup.
The Lakers, Suns, Spurs, and Thunder are in the same group. This group boasts considerable overall strength, featuring the showdown between LeBron James and Kevin Durant, as well as the youthful energy of the Thunder and Spurs. The strong matchups are expected to provide an ultimate viewing experience for the audience.
Additionally, the Mavericks and the Warriors have been drawn into the same group. Klay Thompson, who transferred from the Warriors to the Mavericks in the summer, will face his former team in the first game of the group stage, setting the stage for a charged encounter. This group also includes a matchup between the old rivals, the Warriors and the Grizzlies.
