In the new season, Chris Paul will continue his career with the San Antonio Spurs and will keep wearing the No. 3 jersey.
Previously, Spurs player Keldon Johnson announced that he would give up the No. 3 jersey and switch to the No. 0 jersey, which was the number he wore when playing for the G League’s Austin Spurs.
Earlier, Johnson posted a photo of himself wearing his new jersey number on his social media account, officially announcing this change.
Since entering the league in 2005, Paul has always worn the No. 3 jersey. At the age of 39, he signed a one-year contract with the Spurs during this off-season, reportedly worth over $11 million. Last season, Paul played for the Golden State Warriors.
Paul has been selected for the All-Star team 12 times and is now about to enter his 20th season in the NBA. With the Spurs, he will join forces with coach Gregg Popovich and Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama.
Johnson is a forward preparing for his sixth season in San Antonio. He previously stated that his choice to wear the No. 3 jersey was partly out of admiration for Paul.
