Former NBA player Rasheed Wallace talked about Michael Jordan on the latest episode of his show, Sheed&Tyler.
Wallace stated that Jordan’s defense was overrated:
“Jordan wasn’t a good defender. All those All-Defensive teams were because we loved Jordan and wanted to elevate him. I’ve seen him get torched by many players. He couldn’t guard Isaiah Rider, nor could he guard Clyde Drexler. Don’t forget Joe Dumars in his early years.”
“I’m not saying he didn’t play any defense at all. I’m just saying his defense wasn’t as good as other defensive players of his era. I don’t think he had the level to make the All-Defensive First Team ten or eleven times in a row (here Wallace is mistaken; Jordan made the All-Defensive First Team nine times in his career and was named DPOY for the 1987-88 season).” Wallace added.
