On September 25th, the Grizzlies officially announced that they will retire Tony Allen’s number 9 jersey on March 16th next year.
This will be the third jersey retired in Grizzlies franchise history, following Zach Randolph’s number 50 and Marc Gasol’s number 33 jerseys.
Tony Allen played for the Grizzlies for seven seasons, making the playoffs in six of those seasons, during which Allen was selected to the All-Defensive Team six times.
Tony Allen averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game with the Grizzlies.
