On September 26, according to renowned reporter Shams, the 35-year-old Rose announced his retirement, concluding a 16-year NBA career.
Rose was the number one draft pick in 2008, the 2011 NBA MVP (the youngest MVP in history), a three-time All-Star selection, the 2009 Rookie of the Year, and has been selected for the first team once. Throughout his career, he played for the Bulls, Knicks, Timberwolves, Cavaliers, Pistons, and Grizzlies. He averaged 17.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.
