Media Personality: Hong Kong Gold Bull's Carlton to Join Zhejiang Guangsha as the Team's Third Foreign Player

Today, domestic sports media personality @ZhaoTanzhang posted about the foreign player information related to the Zhejiang Guangsha men’s basketball team.

The report content is as follows:

Another player from the NBL’s Hong Kong Gold Bulls has received an offer from the CBA. According to the information obtained by the investigator, if everything goes as expected, the Hong Kong Gold Bulls’ major foreign player Joshua Carlton will join Zhejiang Guangsha, becoming the team’s third foreign player. Thus far, the Hong Kong Gold Bulls have supplied a total of five players to the CBA this season, including Zhu Songwei, Liu Chuanxing, March, Jones, and Carlton.

Carlton is 25 years old, 208cm tall, and weighs 111kg. He was undrafted in 2022 and has previously played in the French League, Turkish Super League, and the domestic league NBL. In this year’s NBL regular season, he averaged 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, once scoring 32+12 in a single game. In the playoffs, he averaged 13.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Carlton has the ability for independent offense, with his offensive areas mostly near the basket, and his finishing moves are predominantly with his right hand; his offense lacks diversity and he has no shooting ability. Carlton’s screens are of high quality, and he also possesses certain defensive capabilities due to his physical conditions, being a player of adequate size and more traditional type in the frontcourt. Perhaps he might pair up with Hu Jinqiu as a power forward or center?

Zhejiang Guangsha has also completed their trio of foreign players, but unlike other teams, they have recruited two major foreign players and one small foreign player.
