NBA New Season Preview: Lakers – James Takes a Pay Cut but Fails to Attract Stars; Will Bronny Bring a Surprise?

Last season, the Lakers, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, achieved a record of 47 wins and 35 losses in the regular season, ranking 8th in the West. Offseason Changes:

The Lakers did not make significant acquisitions this summer. Despite LeBron James’ willingness to take a pay cut to recruit star players, players like Klay Thompson and DeMar DeRozan did not respond. The biggest variable for the team may be the appointment of former NBA player JJ Redick as the new head coach, replacing Darvin Ham. This rookie head coach, who has no coaching experience, was once jokingly referred to by fans as “becoming the head coach after doing a few shows with James.”

In terms of rookies, the Lakers selected Tennessee University scorer Dalton Knecht with the 17th overall pick in the first round and LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James, with the 55th overall pick in the second round.
