Media Figure Reports Annual Expenditure of Basketball Management Center: Spending in Millions, an Increase of Millions from the Previous Year

Today, domestic sports media figure @FuZhenhaoMVP posted an article detailing the basketball-related expenditures of the Basketball Management Center for the year 2023.

The specific content is as follows:

The Basketball Management Center’s 2023 annual departmental final accounts show a total expenditure of 61,724,800 yuan. Compared to 2022, which saw an expenditure of 20,674,100 yuan, there has been an increase of 41,050,700 yuan, or 198.56%, due to major events such as the Men’s Basketball World Cup and the Asian Games. Among this, the fiscal allocation expenditure increased by 38,544,700 yuan, a rise of 454.04%. The main reason for this increase is additional fiscal allocations for projects such as youth sports promotion and improvement, Olympic glory plan outline guarantee, and national team training allowances.

The budget for the national team preparation expenses project in 2023 was 11,759,100 yuan, with actual spending reaching 9,420,100 yuan. This resulted in some savings because the Chinese men’s basketball team did not qualify for the Olympics. The initial budget for cultural tourism, sports, and media (category) sports (section) sports competition (item) was 1,440,200 yuan, while the actual expenditure was 2,256,500 yuan, completing 165.68% of the initial budget. The primary reason for the final expenditure exceeding the budget is the increased international comprehensive games competition bonuses in 2023. These international comprehensive games refer to the Hangzhou Asian Games where the women’s basketball team successfully defended their title, and the men’s team won the bronze medal, resulting in bonuses that exceeded the initial budget by 165.68%.
