WNBA Playoffs Kick Off Tomorrow! Who Do You Think Will Make the Final Four?

Tomorrow, the WNBA playoffs will begin, with the first round adopting a best-of-three format.

1. (1) Liberty vs (8) Dream

The Liberty achieved the league’s best record this season with 32 wins and 8 losses, showing an extremely hot form overall. On the other hand, the Dream only secured their playoff spot in the final game of the regular season, narrowly making it through. Notably, the Dream defeated the Liberty in the last game of the regular season to secure their playoff berth, which may have some impact on this series.

2. (2) Lynx vs (7) Mercury

The Lynx were very strong this season, winning the Commissioner’s Cup in the first half of the season and then achieving a terrifying record of 13 wins and 2 losses after the Olympic break, surpassing the Sun to claim the second-best record in the league. They had a 3-1 record against the Mercury this season, with three of those wins being blowouts, while the one loss came from a buzzer-beater by Mercury’s core player Cooper. However, the Mercury have two superstars in Taurasi and Griner, whose playoff experience combined with Cooper’s presence should make for an exciting series.

3. (3) Sun vs (6) Fever

The Sun’s roster is very solid, and they further strengthened their lineup midway through the season by trading for scorer Mabrey with the Sky using players like Banham. The Fever, on the other hand, had a rocky start but found their rhythm when No. 1 draft pick Clark adjusted to the game, making their offense flow smoothly. Center Boston, another top pick, maintained her good form, along with guard Mitchell, helping to keep the Fever’s record within playoff contention. Already setting numerous records, Clark will face off directly against the powerful Sun, a matchup you wouldn’t want to miss.

4. (4) Aces vs (5) Storm

This is probably the most star-studded matchup, with four All-Stars starting for each team. The Storm welcomed back forward Gabby Williams, who performed excellently at the Olympics, giving them a starting lineup of five stars (Loyd, Diggins, Gabby, Ogwumike, Magbegor). However, the Aces are the defending champions, with Wilson having a career year and almost securing the MVP award. Jackie Young has shown significant improvement this season, Plum continues to perform efficiently, and veteran Gray, although slightly less effective, brings invaluable playoff experience that is crucial for the Aces.
