Today, according to noted reporter Sam Amick on the program “The TK Show,” the Golden State Warriors are very interested in the Miami Heat’s core player Jimmy Butler.
“Jimmy Butler will become a free agent next summer and has not yet renewed his contract with the Heat. The Warriors are very interested in him and have probably made several calls already.”
According to Barry Jackson, a veteran beat reporter for the Miami Heat from the Miami Herald, sources revealed that Butler had originally planned to renew his contract with the Heat this summer, but changed his mind after the Heat did not offer a renewal. He now plans to finish the new season before discussing a renewal, planning to become a free agent in the summer of 2025. However, the Heat currently have no plans to trade Butler.
Butler’s salary for the 2024-25 season is $48.8 million, and he has a player option worth $52.41 million for the 2025-26 season. He can choose to opt out of his contract next summer to become a free agent and pursue a larger contract.
