November 1, 2024 – According to renowned sports journalist Shams Charania, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is nearing his return to the court.
Sources indicate that Embiid has completed multiple 5-on-5 internal scrimmages over the past few days and is set to make his season debut soon. Due to the team’s so-called left knee management, Embiid has not played in any games this season. He is expected to continue participating in practices on Thursday and Friday, after which the team will determine his status for the upcoming games against the Memphis Grizzlies and beyond.
On Tuesday, the NBA fined the 76ers $100,000 for failing to accurately disclose information about Embiid’s health. The NBA investigation found that the 76ers did not violate player participation rules, but their statements regarding Embiid were “inconsistent with Joel Embiid’s health, violating NBA regulations.” The NBA confirmed that Embiid has been sidelined due to a left knee condition throughout the season so far.
The 76ers (1-3) will face the Grizzlies at home this weekend and will embark on a three-game road trip in the West next Tuesday, playing against the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, and Los Angeles Lakers.
