Today, the Japanese Basketball Association held a press conference to announce the list of teams that have been granted access to the new B.Premier league, which will kick off in the fall of 2026. Currently, 22 teams have passed the eligibility review in three batches.

First batch of approved teams (average attendance of 4,000 over two consecutive seasons and team revenue exceeding 1.2 billion yen): Utsunomiya Brex, Chiba Jets, Tokyo Apache, Kawasaki Brave Thunders, Ryukyu Golden Kings
Second batch of approved teams (average attendance of 4,000 in one season and team revenue exceeding 1.2 billion yen): Hokkaido Windy God, Sendai 89ers, Gunma Crane Thunders, Chiba Altrey, Shibuya Sunrockers, Yokohama B-Corsairs, Shinshu Brave Warriors, Mie Fujix, Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, Shimane Magics, Hiroshima Dragonflies, Saga Balloons
Third batch of approved teams (average attendance of 4,000 in one season and team revenue exceeding 900 million yen, or average attendance of 3,000 in one season and team revenue exceeding 1.2 billion yen): Toyama Grouses, Aichi Sea Horses, Shiga Lakestars, Kobe Storks, Nagasaki Volca
The official statement indicated that the results of the fourth batch review will be announced in December this year, and the final teams that pass the review will join the aforementioned 22 teams to participate in the B.Premier league starting in 2026.
