ESPN: Celtics set to offer Tatum historic 0M max extension in NBA

On June 18, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Celtics defeated the Mavericks to win the championship with a 4-1 series lead.

According to insider Woj, although the season has not officially concluded and teams are not allowed to discuss contract extensions with players under the rules, the Celtics are expected to quickly present Jayson Tatum with a five-year, $315 million supermax deal. If Tatum signs the extension, it would become the largest contract in NBA history, with an average annual salary exceeding $63 million.

Tatum’s current contract has two years remaining, with a salary of $32.6 million this season, $34.85 million for the 2024-25 season, and a player option of $37.1 million for the 2025-26 season.
