As previously reported, NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo passed away from brain cancer at the age of 58.
76ers star Joel Embiid expressed during media day,
“It’s a sad day, especially for us Africans and the entire world. Beyond his achievements on the basketball court, I think he was even better off the court. He was one of the people I looked up to, his impact on the world, not just on the court but off it as well. He did so many great things. He did so much for so many people, and he was a great role model. So, yes, it is a sad day.”
