On October 19, FIBA’s official Twitter account updated a post to commemorate the 91st anniversary of basketball’s inclusion in the Olympics.
FIBA wrote in the tweet: “On October 19, 1933, the International Olympic Committee voted to pass a resolution to add basketball as a new event at the 1936 Olympics.”
Since then, basketball has become one of the permanent events in the Summer Olympics.
