Guangdong Men’s Basketball Team Official Announcement: Former NBA Players Will Barton and Darius Bazley Join the Team

Today, Guangdong Southern Tigers Basketball Team officially announced that Will Barton and Darius Bazley have joined the team. The team’s announcement is as follows,

“Recently, our club has reached an agreement with the foreign players Will Barton and Darius Bazley on joining Guangdong Southern Tigers. After submitting the registration materials to the CBA Company and completing the review and public announcement, Barton and Bazley will represent Guangdong men’s basketball team in the new season of the CBA League.”

Will Barton (Will Barton) was born in 1991 in Maryland, USA, standing at 196cm tall, playing as a shooting guard/small forward. In the 2012 NBA Draft, Barton was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round, tenth pick, entering the NBA. Throughout his 11-year NBA career, Barton played for the Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Wizards, and Raptors, appearing in a total of 708 games, averaging 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. During his peak season with the Denver Nuggets, he played 81 games, averaging 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. In the 2023-24 season, while playing in the Puerto Rican league, Barton averaged 17.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4 assists in 31.4 minutes per game.

Darius Bazley (Darius Bazley) was born in 2000 in Ohio, USA, standing at 203cm tall, playing as a power forward. In the 2019 NBA Draft, Bazley was selected by the Utah Jazz in the first round, twenty-third pick, and subsequently traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder to start his professional career. Over his 5-year NBA career, Bazley played for the Thunder, Suns, Jazz, and 76ers, appearing in a total of 244 games, averaging 8.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. During his peak season with the Thunder, he played 55 games, averaging 13.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
