On the evening of October 5th, in a pre-season CBA game, Xinjiang led Ningbo by 12 points with a score of 46-34 at halftime.
In this game, Xinjiang’s two starting foreign players, Peterson and Lawson, had poor shooting performances in the first half. Peterson made only 1 out of 5 shots, including 1 out of 4 three-pointers, scoring 3 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 2 assists. Similarly, Lawson made only 1 out of his 5 attempts, missing both three-point shots, scoring just 2 points, grabbing 1 rebound, and providing 1 assist.
Despite the poor performance of the starting foreign players, Hegen, who came off the bench, performed well, making 5 out of 8 shots, scoring 10 points and providing 3 assists. He was the only player on Xinjiang’s team to score in double digits. With the excellent performances of local players Li Yanzhe, Xi Erzhati, and Aizaiti, Xinjiang still led Ningbo by a comfortable margin. On the other hand, although Laka Savić scored 11 points in the first half for Ningbo, he only made 3 out of his 10 attempts. Martign scored 4 points but contributed 7 rebounds. Wang Yifan scored 3 points, while Zhao Junfeng, coming off the bench for Deo, scored 9 points. Ningbo exposed several issues in the first half, leaving us to look forward to the second half of the game.
