October 26 news, the departure of Klay Thompson has not diminished the Golden State Warriors’ outside shooting prowess, thanks to Buddy Hield.
In the first half of the Warriors’ recent matchup against the Utah Jazz, Hield came off the bench and played 14 minutes, hitting 6 of 7 three-pointers and 9 of 11 overall shots, scoring 24 points. In the first 34 minutes he has played for the Warriors this season, he has scored a total of 49 points, making 12 three-pointers.
In the opening game, Hield played 15 minutes and scored 22 points. He became the first player since Paul George in 2022 to score 20+ points in less than 15 minutes, and he did it again today.
Regarding his performance, Hield said he has been “studying” Stephen Curry for many years and is now learning from him as a teammate: “He has a great release arc. That’s what I’ve been working on all along.”
Additionally, it’s worth noting that, similar to the previous game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr used a 13-man rotation in the first quarter.
