On June 19th, Durant addressed the controversy surrounding Clark’s exclusion from the USA Olympic women’s basketball roster during a recent interview.
He said, “I think there are some appropriate steps that need to be taken before making the Olympic squad. She will definitely be part of the US Women’s Basketball Olympic team in the future, but there are currently more suitable candidates.”
The previously announced 12-player roster includes A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray, and Kaila Cooper.
