Marvelous Double Act! Schroder & Wagner each score 26 points to lead the team to a triumphant advance

On the morning of August 3, in the third round of the men’s basketball group stage at the Paris Olympic Games, France faced off against Germany in a key match. In the end, France lost 71-85 at home to Germany, with Germany securing first place and advancing to the next round after three consecutive victories.

In this match, Germany began to dominate from the mid-point of the first quarter. By halftime, they had already taken a lead of more than 20 points, and the gap remained around 20 points for most of the game. Even though France scored 11 points at the start of the fourth quarter, it did not prevent Germany from winning smoothly.

Both German stars, Schroder and Wagner, had outstanding performances throughout the game. Each of them scored 26 points, adding up to a total of 52 points.

Schroder scored 26 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and made 9 assists in the game. He made 4 out of 7 three-point shots and both free throws, shooting 10 out of 17 overall.

Wagner scored 26 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, made 2 assists, and recorded 1 steal and 1 block, filling his stat sheet. He made 2 out of 5 three-point shots and all 8 free throws, with a plus-minus rating of +15, the highest in the game.

It is worth noting that Germany only had these two players scoring double digits throughout the game. In the first half alone, they combined for 31 points, even more than France’s entire team which scored 27 points, by 4 points.
