The inaugural head coach and player development director is former NBA player, University of Connecticut head coach, and NCAA champion Kevin Ollie; the board includes individuals such as Pau Gasol, Carmelo Anthony, and Jay Williams; Amen Thompson and Ausar Thompson played in this league before entering the NBA.
Zhao Wei Lun was born on September 8, 2005, in Italy and plays as a point guard, standing at 1.83 meters tall. At the age of five, Zhao Wei Lun enrolled in the youth program of the Serie A league’s Varèse Basketball Club, officially starting his basketball training journey. In November 2023, Zhao Wei Lun was promoted to the senior team of Varèse to compete in the FIBA Europe Cup, becoming the first male athlete in Chinese basketball history to play in the FIBA Europe Cup.
In the 2023 U19 Men’s Basketball World Cup, Zhao Wei Lun represented China, averaging 9.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. In June 2024, the official Chinese national basketball team announced the training squad list for the Chinese men’s national team, which included Zhao Wei Lun, but he later missed the national team training due to personal reasons.
