On October 27, the NBA regular season continued, with the Kings narrowly losing to the Lakers 127-131 on the road, suffering their second consecutive defeat.
The Kings started the game strong, but were outscored by the Lakers in the second quarter, which widened the gap. However, they quickly adjusted and caught up, even taking the lead in the second half and maintaining control. In the final quarter, however, the Kings were dominated by LeBron James at the start, and although they fought back and closed the gap to just two points, Anthony Davis’s three-pointer sealed their fate.
The Kings’ performance was commendable, with six players scoring in double digits, including three who scored over 20 points. Domantas Sabonis was outstanding, shooting 10-for-14 for a triple-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, though he finally lost to Davis for the first time in his career. DeMar DeRozan also contributed 23 points, scoring 13 alone in the fourth quarter; De’Aaron Fox had 28 points and 10 assists, albeit with 10 turnovers; while Murray, Hield, and Monk each scored 14 points.
