Thunder vs. Warriors Preview: Bogemski & TJD Absent as Warriors Seek to Extend Winning Streak Face Test

At 10:30 a.m. on July 20, the NBA Summer League continues with a game between the Thunder and the Warriors.

The Warriors’ lineup in the summer league can be considered luxurious, led by two key rotation players from last season, Bogemski and Davis. The duo have been almost overqualified for the summer league, with Bogemski posting near-triple-doubles multiple times and Davis achieving double-doubles regularly. These performances helped the Warriors secure six consecutive victories. Apart from a narrow one-point win against the Kings, they triumphed by more than 10 points in the other five games, demonstrating their dominance.

After playing five games, Bogemski and Davis withdrew early from the summer league. However, even without them in the last game, the Warriors still defeated the Cavaliers 96-85. Proudon, who signed a two-way contract with the Warriors previously, has been outstanding in the summer league, scoring in double digits in all six games, including a single-game high of 26 points. With Bogemski and Davis out, Proudon will shoulder a heavier scoring responsibility.

The Thunder have also played six games in the summer league, with a record of 2 wins and 4 losses, suffering three consecutive losses prior to their most recent game. In their last match, the Thunder lost 99-100 to the Suns, with Bohem posting 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, Shackleford scoring 18 points, and Malmamado contributing 13 points and 10 assists. Five players scored in double figures for the team, but they fell victim to Rody’s free-throw near-buzzer-beater from the Suns.

The Thunder’s summer league roster does not feature any particularly well-known players, consisting mainly of undrafted players. Jones, the 26th pick, received some attention earlier but has performed average. Instead, Flagler and Mitchell have consistently delivered solid performances. On paper, the Thunder appear somewhat weaker, but they do have a chance against a Warriors team missing Bogemski and Davis.

Rosters for both teams:

Warriors: Proudon, Sokhin, Lovey, Spencer, Collins, Thompson, Scott, Visocvy, Bolden, White, Flannigan, Beckman, Santos.

Thunder: Mitchell, Flagler, Jones, Ryan, Shackleford, Malmamado, Kelly, Kop, Williams, Walton, Gork, Lyons, Bohem, Daniels.
