On August 22, the Warriors announced that team legend and Hall of Famer Alvin Attles has passed away at the age of 87.
Attles was selected by the Warriors with the 39th pick in 1960, played for the Warriors for 11 seasons, averaging 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
In 1971, after retiring as a player, he became the head coach of the San Francisco Warriors and led the team to a championship in 1975. In 1983, he retired from coaching and then served as general manager for three years.
Alvin Attles worked for the Warriors for 60 years, making him the longest-serving person in NBA history for the same team.
