Recently, British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn told the media that former two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) must adopt an aggressive approach in his second fight against Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), applying constant pressure if he hopes to avenge his defeat.
Hearn said, “I don’t think Fury was robbed or unlucky in the first fight with Usyk. Most people believe Usyk won without controversy. Fury says he needs a KO to win, but I strongly disagree. If he is genuinely the better fighter, he can win on points. I like Fury’s attitude now; for the rematch against Usyk, he must go in there and attack relentlessly.”
The 35-year-old Fury has confirmed that he will face Usyk again on December 21, earning 40% of the $190 million total purse, which amounts to $76 million. Regardless of the outcome, Fury is set to face Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) in 2025.
