Recently, former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) shared his thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The two are set to clash again on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury has recently stated that he will adopt an aggressive approach in their second encounter, relying on his physical advantages to secure a knockout victory over Usyk.
Reacting to this, Joshua said, “Their first fight was fantastic, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Was Usyk the rightful winner? 100 percent. Tyson Fury says he’ll come out all guns blazing in the rematch and knock out Usyk. Everyone talks about using their size advantage before the fights, but for most of the first bout, Fury was the one pushed back by Usyk. Usyk is exceptional, exceptionally good, and you have to give him credit for his skills.”
Both Fury and Usyk possess great technical skills, with Usyk being perhaps even more well-rounded, possessing superior boxing intelligence and stamina. Fury’s punches don’t carry the same weight as Joshua’s, which could mean a higher margin of error for Usyk in their second meeting.
