Tyson Fury's Brother: Usyk Really Won the Fight

Recently, former two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s brother Shane Fury told the media that after reviewing the fight footage, he believes Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) indeed lost to Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) on May 18, albeit in a very close contest.

Shane Fury said, “On the night of the fight, sitting ringside, I did feel that Tyson had defeated Usyk. I even went up to the ring and told Usyk, ‘Well done, you’re great, but you’ll have to do even better next time.’ When the judges announced Usyk as the winner, I was genuinely surprised. But after watching the replay, I realized that Usyk did win. It was a close fight, but Usyk came out on top.”

Usyk will have a rematch with Tyson Fury on December 21, with a total purse of $190 million. Usyk will receive 60% – $114 million, while Tyson Fury will take home 40% – $76 million. Although Fury earned $105 million in the first bout, $76 million remains the second-highest purse of his career.
