Beterbiev: Anticipating the Bivol Clash on October 12

Today, current WBC/IBF/WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs), of Russian origin and based in Canada, expressed his gratitude to Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh for his significant contributions to the world of boxing. He eagerly awaits his unification bout against Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) on October 12.

Said Beterbiev, “I was thrilled watching the 5 vs 5 boxing night in Riyadh, and I’m delighted that the team I supported emerged victorious. Congratulations to Frank Warren on his triumph over Eddie Hearn. It was also pleasing to see my young compatriot Hamza Sillard (20-0, 16 KOs) secure a TKO win. I’d like to thank Saudi Arabia and Mr. Turki Alalshikh for their immense contribution to the global boxing scene. We’ll meet again in Riyadh on October 12.”

The 39-year-old Beterbiev, who knocked out former WBA super middleweight super champion Callum Smith (29-2, 21 KOs) in January, is currently ranked number one by BoxRec in the 175-pound division and holds the fifth spot in The Ring’s pound-for-pound rankings. The anticipation for his bout with Bivol is high, with fans evenly divided in their predictions for the winner.
