Today, American lightweight prospect Frank “The Ghost” Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) told the media that he is confident of defeating current WBA lightweight champion and three-division world titlist Gervonta “Tank” Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) in their fight this Sunday, as he possesses everything needed to triumph over Davis.
“I feel great, I’m ready for battle. I’ve trained hard for this moment, and there’s a reason I’m here – I’m here to win. Why can I win? Because I’m a different kind of fighter, I have speed, power, and intelligence. I believe I have all the tools for victory,” said Frank Martin.
The 29-year-old Frank Martin currently holds an unblemished professional record of 18 wins with 12 knockouts, ranking ninth on the BOXREC lightweight rankings. Standing at 5’8″ with a reach of 5’8″ (according to BOXREC data), Martin fights as a southpaw. However, judging from the press conference, he appears to be similar in height to Davis, not enjoying a seven-inch height advantage.
