According to recent media reports, American social media sensation and boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) is still scheduled to return to the ring on July 20 to face UFC fighter Mike Perry (14-8, 11 KOs), followed by a showdown with former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) on November 15.
Paul’s bout with Tyson was originally set for July 20 but was postponed due to Tyson’s health concerns, moving their clash to November 15.
Commenting on the situation, Jake Paul said, “Once my fight with Tyson got pushed back to November 15, I immediately decided that I needed to compete on July 20. Since I’m facing Tyson in November, Mike Perry is the perfect tune-up opponent. He’s a KO artist who has proven himself to be a madman both inside and outside the ring. Perry is an ideal opponent leading up to Tyson, allowing me to gain some experience but also presenting a risk of losing – a risk I’ve never been afraid to take.”
The 32-year-old Mike Perry has an MMA record of 14 wins and 8 losses, with 11 of his victories coming by way of KO and 3 via decision. In bare-knuckle fighting, he boasts a perfect 5-0 record, with 3 knockouts. Known for his striking skills, his boxing technique is considered average, making him a relatively safe opponent for Jake Paul.
