m0NESY's visa approved at the last minute, set to fly for BLAST Spring Finals

G2 announced yesterday that their star sniper Ilya Osipov | m0NESY would miss the BLAST Spring Finals due to visa issues. However, the Russian player confirmed on his personal channel that his visa has been approved and he is flying to collect his passport.

m0NESY stated, “Visa approved, flying to get my passport. Fingers crossed they will let me through so maybe I can make the first game.”

The initial plan was for the team’s coach, Wiktor Wojtas | TaZ, to stand in for the event. This would mark the second consecutive tournament with an incomplete roster for G2, following Rasmus Nielsen | HooXi’s absence at IEM Dallas due to his sister’s wedding.

G2 triumphed at Dallas with Jake Yip | Stewie2K as a substitute. However, the absence of their main sniper m0NESY significantly impacts the team’s firepower, leaving them without their sharpest tool.

Fingers crossed that m0NESY secures his passport in time to join the team before their opening group stage match against Spirit in London.
