Famous commentator Mauisnake recently stated in a talk show that, in certain respects, the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournaments hold more importance than the Major championships.
During the show, Mauisnake remarked, “After the Major format change, teams no longer automatically secure a Legends spot for the next Major by reaching the playoffs, and even winning the Major doesn’t guarantee entry into the following one. So, in that sense, how you perform at the Major doesn’t matter as much. The RMRs have surpassed the Major in significance, as they are now the most crucial tournaments of the year for teams, mainly due to the lucrative sticker revenue share that comes with qualifying for the Major.”
As previously reported, each team’s sticker revenue share for the BLAST Paris Major is estimated to be around $4.58 million.
