Lobotka’s Agent: We Had an Agreement with Barcelona, But They Changed Coaches

June 25 – The agent of Napoli star Lobotka has recently told the media that the player had reached a transfer agreement with Barcelona, but the Catalans’ change of coach before the transfer window has left the player’s future uncertain.

According to Spanish publication Marca, since March, Barcelona manager Xavi has sung the praises of Napoli midfielder Lobotka. The Spanish tactician was highly impressed with the 29-year-old Slovakian and intended to bring him from Italy to La Liga. Following a Champions League match against Napoli, Xavi lauded the midfielder, “He’s a player I like. He never loses the ball in terms of organization, and I would like to see him in a team like Barcelona. He made a difference for Napoli.”

In a recent television interview, Lobotka’s agent Branislav Jarošek addressed the transfer rumors, “We had an agreement with Barcelona, but there was a change in the coaching. Barcelona currently has some financial issues, and the situation is unclear. The transfer isn’t over yet; things are evolving. Everyone at Barcelona, Madrid, and England knows Lobotka’s abilities.”

However, the player’s representative also hinted at the possibility of Lobotka staying put, “If Lobotka returns to Napoli, we’ll all be happy. That’s the most likely scenario now. Napoli wouldn’t let one of their best players go unless it was for a significant transfer fee. Many coaches are looking for this kind of player.”
