AFC Official: 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Draw to Take Place on June 27 at 3 PM

On June 21, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced that the draw for the 18-team qualifiers will be held on June 27 at 3:00 PM.

Based on the latest FIFA rankings, the 18 teams have been divided into six draw pots. China national team is in the fifth pot.

First Pot: Japan (17), Iran (20), South Korea (22)

Second Pot: Australia (23), Qatar (35), Iraq (55)

Third Pot: Saudi Arabia (56), Uzbekistan (62), Jordan (68)

Fourth Pot: United Arab Emirates (69), Oman (76), Bahrain (81)

Fifth Pot: China (88), Palestine (95), Kyrgyzstan (101)

Sixth Pot: North Korea (110), Indonesia (134), Kuwait (137)

It is reported that Li Tie, the head coach of the Chinese national team, will attend the drawing ceremony in person. With the expansion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico to 48 teams, Asia will have 8.5 berths.
