During the 69th minute of the Portugal vs. Turkey match on the early hours of June 23rd, a young fan breached security and managed to take a selfie with Cristiano Ronaldo. After the game, the German newspaper Bild tracked down the fan for an interview about the incident.
The young fan said, “My dream has finally come true. Now I have a picture with Ronaldo, and I’ll print it on a T-shirt and hang it on my wall.”
When asked if he would do it again, he replied, “No, I’m afraid the fines might be even higher. The tickets for the four of us cost 400 euros each.”
Following the youngster’s successful selfie, several more fans attempted to invade the pitch, causing concern for Portugal’s manager, Martinez. He commented, “It is worrying because today we were lucky – the fans’ intentions seemed good.
