According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Football Association (KFA) is considering appointing a local coach as the national team’s manager, with Kim Duk-hoon and Hong Myung-bo emerging as leading contenders.
Following the announcement of Jürgen Klinsmann’s departure in February, the KFA has yet to finalize a new permanent head coach for the Korean team. Previously, the KFA was close to an agreement with Jesse Marsch, but negotiations ultimately fell through.
It is reported that after an unsuccessful search for a foreign coach, the KFA has shifted its focus and now plans to select a homegrown coach for the national team’s helm. The two main favorites at present are Kim Duk-hoon, who is currently serving as interim manager, and former national team coach Hong Myung-bo.
