According to reports from COPE, Spanish forward Ayoze Pérez has sustained a muscle injury in his right leg following the match against Italy, potentially ruling him out of the final group stage fixture against Albania.
In the second group game, Spain secured qualification with a 1-0 victory over Italy. Pérez came on as a substitute for the impressive Williams in the 78th minute, making an impact despite limited playing time. Unfortunately, during routine post-match medical checks, an issue with his health was detected.
As reported by COPE journalist Condes, Pérez’s specific injury has been diagnosed as a strain in his right hamstring. He will undergo further scans over the weekend to assess the severity of the injury. With Spain already assured of a spot in the round of 16, manager Luis de la Fuente is unlikely to risk any player’s health in the match against Albania, which could mean Pérez sits out the final group game.
Spain currently leads Group B, often referred to as the “group of death,” with two wins and six points, ensuring their place in the knockout stages.
