Even Adidas would approve! TA: Snapdragon's Manchester United shirt sponsorship deal not tied to Champions League qualification

According to The Athletic, Snapdragon’s shirt sponsorship agreement with Manchester United does not include any clauses linked to the club’s participation in the UEFA Champions League. This means that the Red Devils will receive the full sponsorship fee even if they miss out on the competition for consecutive years.

The report states that the initial duration of the deal is three years, with an option for Snapdragon to extend it by another two years. The annual sponsorship fee stands at €75 million (£59.22 million).

In contrast to the previous contract between Adidas and Manchester United, Snapdragon has not insisted on including any conditions related to Champions League qualification. As a result, Manchester United need not worry about a reduced sponsorship fee should they fail to qualify for the prestigious tournament in the coming seasons.

In the past five seasons, Manchester United have only appeared in the Champions League proper three times, managing to progress from the group stage only once (in the 21/22 season), before being eliminated by Atlético Madrid in the round of 16.
