The Italian Football Federation has officially approved that from the 2025-2026 season, the Women’s Serie A will expand to include 12 teams (currently 10), while the Women’s Serie B will be restructured to have 14 teams (previously 16). To ensure a smooth transition, the top three teams from Serie B in the 2024-2025 season will directly advance to Serie A.
