On June 28, Perth Glory announced that David Zdrilic has been appointed as the new head coach of the men’s team, signing a three-year contract.

The 50-year-old Zdrilic, in his playing career, featured for clubs such as Aberdeen and Sydney FC, retiring in 2010. Since then, he has served as an assistant coach at Sydney FC Reserves, RB Leipzig U19s, Chicago Fire, Genoa, and again at Sydney FC.

Zdrilic commented, “I am honored to be named the head coach of Perth Glory. I’m thrilled to join this club and eager to lead the team forward.”

“With a new owner, Perth Glory is entering an exciting new era, and both the coaching staff and squad have undergone a refresh. We have a challenging task ahead, but these challenges are exhilarating.”

“Not only do we aspire to improve our results, but we also aim to help establish a new tactical identity for the team. Drawing from my time at Red Bull, I look forward to introducing an intense attacking style of football.”
